In January 1995, the EU Parliament passed a resolution urging the EU Council and Commission to protect the Indigenous people’s way of life, by, amongst other things seeking to introduce into future trade and cooperation agreements between the EU and third countries ,specific clauses on indigenous people with a view to guaranteeing their rights, it says in the EU newsletter Europe , on January 23/24, 1995.
