In response to U.S. pressure, tuna fishers in the eastern Pacific Ocean have reduced the
number of dolphins killed in their nets by over 96% percent. But without Congressional
action, dolphins will again be at risk.
New bipartisan legislation helps advance U.S. and international protection for that region's
dolphins and other marine life. The Legislation, S.1420 and H.R.2823:
S.1420 and H.R.2823 assure long-term international cooperation in protecting the eastern
Pacific ecosystem, setting the stage for a binding, multilateral program that:
S.1420 and H.R.2823 are endorsed by the Clinton Administration, major conservation
organizations, the fishing industry and leaders from both pontical parties.
Now Is The Time For Congressional Leadership!
