Conspiracy of Silence The EIA filming "under cover"
on the Faroe Islands.
In their 1995 spring newsletter under the heading "Conspiracy of Silence", the
EIA (Environmental Investigation Agency) claimed that "all opposition" to the
pilot whale hunt among the Faroese was "insiduously surpressed." During their
visit to the islands in November 1994, undercover agents from the EIA were met with
"a wall of silence, only broken by courageous Faroese informants who are frightened
to speak out openly" and are "unable to network with others" for fear of
supression. The EIA demands that "such censorship on these wealthy Danish islands be
be seriously questioned by the Danish government."

"Impartiality" (from the International HarpoonNo.4, 1995. IWC 47, Dublin.)
